As senior director of finance and accounting, I oversee the accounting and financial reporting of the company, as well as the budgeting and forecasting for future spend as well.

What I like best is that Tocagen creates a truly innovative environment that drives creative thinking, an engaged workplace and encourages new ideas. It’s fun to be a part of something that could be life changing to patients in such an area of unmet need.

As a co-founder and the original CEO of Tocagen, I have helped mold the corporate vision that No One Should Die Of Cancer. Currently as president of science and innovation, I especially enjoy inspiring our team to create their perfect position for a fulfilling life while achieving our corporate goal of becoming the leading cancer-selective gene therapy company and activating the immune system against the patients’ cancer.

I provide quality support…from producing data for our Toca 511 vector lots for drug release to optimization. Along with our product development and research & development teams, I perform testing to obtain data to support our internal and external development efforts as we move towards taking our products forward through commercialization.

Being at Tocagen for over seven years, one of my favorite parts is how my contributions, help improve patients’ lives! I love that what I do is affecting someone’s life for the better and for the greater good. It’s very fulfilling! My other favorite part is the people. I can honestly say that my colleagues have become an extended family, and I can’t ask for better people to spend every day with.

As research associate 3 and vivarium lead, I conduct preclinical studies whilst learning about our science and the impact that it is generating in the world. I also have the honor of overseeing the welfare of our animals and ensuring the quality care provided to them will provide us with quality science.
